Creating an Easy Thanksgiving Feast.

A lot has been written over the years about creating a Thanksgiving Dinner you'd be proud to serve and still be able to enjoy the occasion too.  This is how I do it.

You don't have to stress out.  You can do it, I know you can.  It's much, much easier than you thought too.   Frankly, I don't understand what all the commotion is about.  It just takes good planning, time management and execution.  Really, don't worry about it.  Just follow everything here and everyone will be raving about how well you did and how much fun they had.

I've tried to include everything I do to prepare for a Thanksgiving celebration, the easy way.   I have had as many as nearly 30 guests for a sit down Thanksgiving dinner at our house and everything went smoothly.  All from my 9'x11' kitchen.   It can be done and pretty easily.  And you'll be relaxed so you can really enjoy the festivities and company.  When the time comes for me to turn over the reigns to one of you, you'll feel ready and prepared, not overwhelmed and stressed out.

Remember though, in all the hustle and bustle that comes with big holiday gatherings the point of Thanksgiving is to express your sincere gratitude to God, family, friends and guests for all they have meant to you during the past year.  Just like the Pilgrims and Indians did so long ago.

Sharing is caring. Your kind words and gestures may be exactly what someone at your table or in your home needs that day.  Click on the Action Plan link to get started.

Love,

Grandma

About Grandma Sharon

Yes, I am a real person.

A real grandmother of 5 and growing.

A mother of four wonderful adult children.

A lucky wife of the same man since 1977.

We live in the Chicagoland area.

Count your many blessings,
name them one by one.
Count your many blessings,
and see what God has done.
(Some lyrics from an old hymn I love.)

I have a suggestion: Get a clean piece of paper and write out everything and everyone you're thankful for.

Be very specific.  You can't just say "family", you have to specifically name each person, each friend and each thing, etc.  You will be surprised to see how really blessed you are.  Keep this handy and if you're ever feeling "down" pull it out and read it.  It will lift your spirits to see how God has been working in your life.
